POWER PYLONS OF THE FUTURE
EUROPEAN COMPOSITE PYLON
THE PROJECT
The European Composite Pylon is a Horizon 2020 funded project that aims to realize three 2x400kV full-scale Composite Power Pylons.
This will be the first time a high voltage power pylon, entirely made from composite material, is made in real life.
THE PARTNERS
The project is carried out in cooperation between 5 European partners with each their unique competencies.
The partners are:
BYSTRUP, Valmont SM, Reinhausen Power Composites, Nexans, and Dervaux.
BACKGROUND
The Composite Pylon has a minimal environmental impact and can change the game for operators and utilities around the world.
The ECP Project builds on existing research performed by Danish Universities and the practical experience of the partners.
VISION & MISSION
The vision is to achieve global climate goals by improving the transportation of renewable energy from production to consumption.
The mission is to deliver a power pylon that is environmentally friendly, technically superior and cost-efficient.
